Pants Formerly Known as Capri

{Blouse: c/o Questhaven | Pants/Jacket: last year | Purse: Melie Bianco}

Last year around this time, after I had purchased these capris from Gap, I read a quote from Tim Gunn. I can't exactly remember his wording but it was something to the tune of "Ladies -- just say no to capri pants." I went into my closet, took a good hard look at these pants and decided right then and there -- these are not capri pants; these are cropped pants. And since I have a .01% chance of ever meeting Mr. Gunn in person, I'm going to speak for him and say that he would definitely approve of this pair of cropped pants.

This is also his favorite style blog, too, if you were wondering. And he loves my cooking.

The other night B and I decided to go for a run. It had been a while since we've done this so imagine the shock my body felt at 7 pm, when it should be watching regularly scheduled television while eating Sour Patch Kids. Actually I felt great for about 12 hours and then I hurt. Which is why I'm wearing flats here and have been for the last three days. An old lady the other day told me I was going to ruin my knees by wearing heels all day long. That's not true -- I'm going to ruin my knees by running once every three months. Leave my heels out of this.

(PS -- sorry if my rogue arrow earlier confused anyone, my skirt is from Modcloth and my purse is thrifted. But my skirt would have been an awesome thrifted find had that been the case! )

Sometimes, even though I style blog, I feel like I don't try out things as much as I should. So I'm taking a risk and...putting a necklace over my buttoned up collar. Woahhhh. I know right? Maybe you should have been sitting down when you read this post. So crazy. So risky. I'm also drinking coffee and it's after noon which means I'll probably be up until 11 tonight. I can not be stopped.

Saturday Nights and Sock Buns

Our date nights rarely consist of us actually going anywhere that warrants me dressing up or wearing heels. Does this stop me? Never. But the good news about running down the street for pizza is that a tank top is perfectly acceptable on a Saturday night. I tend to think that wearing heels trumps any casual piece you are wearing; it tends to balances out the casual. Unless it's pajama jeans, of course, and then all bets are off.

It's hard to get over the fact that I'm wearing a sock on my head. Via the loving Pinterest, I learned how to put a sock on my head, wrap my hair around it and fool you into thinking my hair is full enough to make this pretty little bun. It's been way too long since I've been able to do a blogger bun; it feels good to be back. Even if it involves foot gear and deception.
