(J Brand Jeans, Zimmermann Top, Vintage Earrings/Necklace, Stylists Own Cuffs, Thrifted Heels)

If you've been reading my blog since the beginning you may have noticed (I'd be surprised if anyone has actually picked up on this) that I rarely wear jeans. It's not that I have anything against them. It's just that It's near impossible for me to find any that fit my body shape. I won't even try to explain the weird proportions of my body as I'm sure many of you will roll your eyes, but I can tell you right now that J Brand has cured any doubt I had about finding the perfect jeans. The fit, the stretch, the comfort - I just wish I had found these sooner! Often one to steer clear of wearing black I realised the one piece of clothing I so desperately needed was a pair of black pants. These high waist skinny leg jeans by J Brand were one of the best investments my wardrobe has made in a very long time, and I can't get enough of their unusual coated and shimmery texture. Too easy to style with a casual tee for the day, silk blouses for the evening or even statement pieces like this cutout 'Idyllic' shirt by Zimmerman. I have been wearing these jeans non-stop and love them so much that my-wardrobe.com and I are sharing the J Brand love to my beautiful readers! My-Wardrobe.com will be giving away not one, but two pairs of J Brand jeans worth over $410 each!

Love a early Christmas present so good luck everyone.

(Sara Phillips 'Bindi' Skirt, Vintage Blouse/Jumper/Clutch, Topshop Heels)

Just a sneak peek at my latest post for Harper's Bazaar Style Network. Absolutely smitten with this insane silk skirt by Australian designer Sara Phillips. At a quick glance it could easily be mistaken for a cute floral print but after looking closely you can spot some serious reptilian love. Snakes, alligators and frogs are mixed in with this colourful floral print and the slightly cropped front gives this skirt even more of a quirky and unusual edge. I have a feeling this particular style of skirt is going to be absolutely huge this season after spotting similar styles in a few SS 11/12 collections at RAFW. I can tell you right now the fit is incredibly flattering and slightly addictive. It's definitely an easy DIY that will transform any of your old pencil skirts in your wardrobe into something new and refreshing.

Blinded by the Glow - Natalia Vodianova

A Painting Natalia Vodianova with hair over her eye the drawing is by Artist Danny Roberts of igor and andre
Hey Friends,
Well been working night and day trying to finish a side project. To be in the right mood for the project, I have been listening to different composers and symphonies. After two days of that, tonight I decided I needed a big change of pace. So needless to say, I have Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night" stuck in my head now. Oh well. Haha I had started this painting a few weeks ago but i actually think the party feel of "Last Friday Night" really came through in the brighter colors of the painting. Haha! The painting seriously didn't come together until the last minute, and I'm not sure what it is about this one, but I think I like it. I love painting Natalia Vodianova. She is really amazing. Well, i hope you're having a great night. :)

P.S. I'm finally on Instagram! My name on there is "dannyroberts" :)

A Drawing in the Dark

Artist Danny Roberts Sketch book Drawing of a girl holding a birdShare on Tumblr

Hi everyone!
So we have been super busy, but I'm glad I can get some drawings up.
This one I did on the plane in almost complete darkness on the flight to Tokyo. Haha
It was kind of crazy, but I really like the style of it. What do you think? I hope you are all having a great week! :)

Sketches From Tokyo Pt. 1

Artist Danny Roberts Sketches from his flight of an eye to tokyo Fashion Week

Hey Friends, how was your weekend?
I was cleaning up my room and i found the sketchbook i took with me to Tokyo. I had completely forgotten i had done a handful of sketches while on the flight. Above are a few of them. On the left hand side is a quick contour sketch of my brother on the flight and on the right side, a study sketch of a human eye. Really hope you like it. Also i saw that some of you were a little frustrated by the lack of posting of drawings. Lately i've had to finish up some personal things, but i'm hoping to get back drawing this week. So please don't give up on me ;)

It seems appropriate to be wearing a flight jacket on the eve of my big move to Los Angeles. My bags are packed and to be honest... I'm scared.

10 days in shanghai

I hadn't seen my dad for an extended period of time in quite awhile. I never saw my dad as anything less than someone that everybody followed, without question. Between working on my project, being chauffeured by a guy who didn't speak any English, and so often, straddling the line between contentment and raging anger, I would come home and see my dad writing in his journal and forgetting things. The realization that your parents are getting old is both humbling and terrifying.

In between, I sought refuge at the Swissôtel Shanghai and discovered a store called I.T. where I got an arm cramp browsing through the massive racks of Isabel Marant.

Daphne Groeneveld (Supreme, NY)

via her models.com page , "16 year-old Dutch model Daphne Groeneveld was discovered in Amsterdam when a woman randomly approached her about starting a career. After just one year of modeling she has graced the cover of Vogue Paris with Tom Ford, walked in the Valentino, Chanel, and Dior Haute Couture shows in Paris, and received dancing lessons from Madonna for a Miu Miu ad campaign video. She lists Lara Stone and Doutzen Kroes as models she looks up to and admires."

(Secret Squirrel Top/Shorts, Vintage Necklace/Bag, Samantha Wills 'Jasper' Bangle, Thrifted Heels)

Lately I've been feeling a little uninspired. I think it's the curse of being in between seasons and waiting for the Australian weather to make up its mind on whether or not it wants to act like spring. I mean, sun baking at the beach one day and rugged up in leopard print mink coats the next (currently what I'm doing right now - weird). But when these pretty little numbers arrived in my mailbox yesterday I couldn't even wait for the sun to come out to wear them. They're the perfect set of blush tones I've been patiently waiting for after countless seasons, and seem to work well when worn apart but even better when worn together. The top and shorts are both by Secret Squirrel and have a beautiful shimmer to the fabric, adding to the whole minimalistic and chic look I've been obsessing over lately. Secret Squirrel are also having a 30-50% off sale next Wednesday at Pigeon Ground in Camperdown so if you're around come say hello! To be honest it's killing me not being able to post this whole outfit so be sure to head over to Harper's Bazaar to see the rest of the photos.

Hey friends, thanks for the feedback on the prints.
I'm really glad you like them. :)
I know i have already posted about the Araisara show from Tokyo Fashion Week, but there were a handful of photos i took off the reflections of the floor.
Our new friend Hiro is a genius and did the Show production.
The floor looked just like water and made beautiful abstract forms.
I really like how the photos turned out.
What do you think?
