We all know my affections for pink. So how about this magenta colored library? It's absolutely fantastic! A jewel toned wall is the perfect look for a glamorous reading nook... so very modern day Aladdin. Designer Lindsay Coral Harper decorated this room for the Cathedral Antiques Show House in Atlanta. She did a wonderful job...

pretty AND pink
Being that summer is here and color is finally accepted in New York as a neutral, I am ready to rock some pink! Here are a few of my favorite pink moments in the decor world...
HOME TOUR: Pretty Styling Magic

I am just smitten with this fabulous apartment. The busy fabrics, bold dashes of hot pink, mix of vintage and modern pieces. Completely gives you an idea of how white walls can really work! The black chesterfield sofa is incredibly stylish and works some masculinity into the feminine panache...

Hello Spring
I'm back! I'm alive! In the contest of flu vs. Kendi, I won after a 5-day battle. I also developed a nice set of dreaded hair and some atrophy in my legs. Putting on heels for the first time after laying in bed for several days was equivalent to a baby giraffe walking for the first time. AKA very graceful.
A couple of weeks ago I was wearing a skirt and the first thing my mother said to me was "I've missed your legs." Thank you mother. I realize that you might not find my legs quite as special, but here they are again, not covered by colored jeans. A bit underwhelming, eh? Legs only a mother could love, I suppose.
Also, my skirt is wrinkled and I should probably have worn a slip. Eh, you can't win them all.
Pants Formerly Known as Capri
{Blouse: c/o Questhaven | Pants/Jacket: last year | Purse: Melie Bianco}
Last year around this time, after I had purchased these capris from Gap, I read a quote from Tim Gunn. I can't exactly remember his wording but it was something to the tune of "Ladies -- just say no to capri pants." I went into my closet, took a good hard look at these pants and decided right then and there -- these are not capri pants; these are cropped pants. And since I have a .01% chance of ever meeting Mr. Gunn in person, I'm going to speak for him and say that he would definitely approve of this pair of cropped pants.
This is also his favorite style blog, too, if you were wondering. And he loves my cooking.

Denim Jackets and Other Fears
I don't know about you, but there are a select few pieces of clothing that I am traumatized by from my high school days. Jean jackets, denim overalls, 4" wedged flip flops with large faux flowers attached to them just to name a few. Wind suits. I'm traumatized by wind suits, too. These are the things my nightmares are made of. I don't know why but high school kind of ruined denim jackets for me; I've been weary of them since. (We can't even talk about denim overalls. My therapist says it's still too soon.)
But I've been seeing denim jackets everywhere and I knew that I had to take the plunge. So I took the cheap plunge and found this one on sale. So far so good -- I got it last week and I've worn it 4 times since. Fear of the jacket has been conquered.
It's official -- I'm in that annoying growing your hair out again stage. I feel like my hair says to me every morning: "remember when your hair was cute and short/remember when your hair was long and pretty?" Only a few more years until it's long again. Hopefully overalls and platform flower flip flops will be back in by then.
